Euroclear UK & Ireland Limited

Euroclear UK & Ireland Limited, part of the Euroclear group, is the Central Securities Depository (CSD) for the UK and Ireland and operates the CREST system. Advanced, low-cost settlement facilities are provided for a wide range of corporate and government securities, including those traded on the London and Irish Stock Exchanges and SWX Europe. CREST also settles money-market instruments and funds and a variety of international securities. Euroclear UK & Ireland Limited is regulated by the UK's Financial Services Authority. Membership is available for firms and for individuals.

CREST provides real-time settlement (on the trade date if required), allowing users to monitor and manage their transactions throughout the day. Delivery versus Payment (DvP) in central-bank money is provided, with simultaneous and irrevocable transfer of cash and securities. Full legal title is transferred at the point of settlement for all UK registered shares. Credit facilities are provided by a range of commercial payment banks, and multiple currencies are supported – currently GBP, EUR and USD. Optional settlement netting is available for SWX Europe trades in UK securities, cleared in LCH.Clearnet Limited and settled in CREST. Direct links to US and European settlement systems allow settlement in 18 international markets.

Euroclear is one of the world's leading settlement systems for domestic and international securities transactions, covering bonds, equities and investment funds. Market-owned and market-governed, Euroclear provides securities services to major financial institutions in more than 80 countries. In addition to its role as the leading International Central Securities Depository, Euroclear also acts as the Central Securities Depository for Dutch, French, Irish and UK securities, a role that will soon be extended to include Belgian securities.

SIS assumes two roles in one: on the one hand, SIS is the national Central Securities Depository of the Swiss financial market. On the other hand, it is also an International Central Securities Depository, providing complete services for the clearing, settlement and custody of national and international securities.

SIS operates one of the world's few online real-time settlement systems (SECOM) allowing market participants to settle their transactions via a single technical interface.
