The SMI® (Swiss Market Index) is Switzerland's blue-chip index, which makes it the most important in the country. The SMI comprises a fixed number of 20 of the largest and most liquid SPI® large-cap securities.

In July 2007, the SIX Swiss Exchange has launched the SLI® (SLI Swiss Leader Index) - a share index with capped weightings. The SLI contains the 30 biggest and most liquid securities from the Swiss equity market.
